Milpitas makes up the northeast corner of Silicon Valley, before you hit the East Bay and its suburbs. Like other cities in Silicon Valley, many big name tech and software firms call Milpitas home, including SanDisk and FireEye.
Nearby
Highways 880 and 680 run almost parallel through the heart of Milpitas, connecting the South Bay to the East Bay. South Bay neighbor, San Jose, shares a winding southern border. While East Bay neighbor, Fremont, shares a short northern border. Unlike other Silicon Valley cities, Milpitas will soon be connected to the rest of the Bay Area via Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) with a station opening in 2017.
