Sunnyvale historically was an agricultural town, giving way to heavy defense industries in the early part of the 20th century. Largely lead by the city's proximity to Moffett Federal Airfield and the opening of aircraft manufacturer, Lockheed's new facility in the city. Sunnyvale, like many of its Silicon Valley neighbors, is now at the epicenter of the technology industry. Giants like Advance Micro Devices (AMD), and Juniper Networks all set up their headquarters in Sunnyvale.
